What You Are Looking At
The steps most attics never get
A cheap insulation job blows new material on top of the old and leaves. The photos above show the order we actually work in, and why the result lasts.
Old insulation vacuumed out
Settled, dusty, rodent-visited insulation comes out first, so the air sealing underneath can be done properly and the new material goes in at full depth.
Every top plate and penetration sealed
The white foam lines along the framing are the air barrier. Without them, warm air still leaks straight through the new insulation into the attic.
Dams, hatches, and knee walls handled
Insulation dams keep depth at the access, hatch covers stop the biggest single leak in most homes, and knee walls get foamed so the room behind them stays comfortable.
Depth checked and documented
A ruler in the finished insulation is how you and the rebate program both know the job hit its target.
